Since becoming a Christian my perspective on life has changed, and having realised that my sin seperated me from a relationship with God, I have set about restoring that relationship by accepting that I am only made worthy by Christs worthiness. Through His death he has paid the price for my sin, and He will mould my life into His perfect image during my time on earth as I attempt to live out my life as a thank-you to the one who gave his all for me.Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.comBlogger131125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-65809530714974227292008-07-19T15:13:00.001+00:002008-07-19T15:13:50.294+00:00Maintaining the passionThe danger of becoming insular. On a team like this your totally reliant on God for everything, and daily you see his answers to prayer as he gives you the strength and enthusiasm to keep on beyond your own abilities. Youthworks on a bit of a break at present, enjoying abit of a much needed rest for a couple of weeks there before CSSM and Reachout in the incoming weeks. Was off work last week and it was bliss, spending some quality time Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-33065721817168767902007-03-16T16:45:00.001+00:002007-03-16T16:45:39.712+00:00AMAZING GRACEPreparing some material for bible class today, continuing our study of James, looking at it's teaching and relevance in our lives today. Were now into chapter 2, looking at the section dealing with faith and works, where James challenges the church of his day that faith without works is dead.Thought it appropriate to look at the life of William Wilberforce, with the upcoming release of Amazing Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-68475200392570472762007-02-27T21:56:00.001+00:002007-02-27T21:56:05.414+00:00Browser changeI'm now trying Firefox as my internet browser, blogging this using the performancing addon. Fully customisable, quicker to load than IE and pretty impressive thus far. Will post further comments in weeks to comepowered by performancing firefoxColin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-49992522516839501322007-02-05T15:22:00.000+00:002007-02-05T15:25:27.273+00:00Have just been listening to the funeral service of Michael Summer, Director of Agape Puppet Ministry who left this earth a year past in October. Mike was a great man, an ambassador of the faith, and someone whose godly example changelled me to faith in Christ, and showed me how to be a true man of God. The thanksgiving service for his life was a fitting tribute to the inpact of his life on manyColin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1169814385292767642007-01-26T12:26:00.000+00:002007-01-26T12:26:25.400+00:00First post of 2007Well this blog has been a barren land of late, have become totally snowed under with work, finding I have little time for anything like writing the odd blog post. Working weeks have been more like 50+ hours instead of the 37 1/2 hour week I'm contracted to work recently, and hence the posts haven't happened. But I'm off today on flexi and thought I'd get caught up on some stuff whichColin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1164835661819804962006-11-29T21:27:00.000+00:002006-11-29T21:27:42.000+00:00Lack of postingWell the posts on the old blog have been somewhat non-existent in the past month or so, due largely to the busyness of work and life. Work has taken a more 8-6 look in the past month, lots of stress and many times wondering why I bother putting myself through it for the poor payslip at the end of the month. Have been feeling sorry for myself on a number of occasions, abit Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1162316127023714772006-10-31T17:29:00.000+00:002006-10-31T17:35:27.043+00:00The four Evangelists as depicted in the Book of Kells, well worth a look if your in Dublin Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1162315717383302172006-10-31T17:28:00.000+00:002006-10-31T17:28:37.480+00:00It's been a whileWell here I am again, quite a while since my last post, thought i'd better spend abit of my day off catching up on a few things. Spent yesterday in Dublin, hadn't realised the marathon was happening, but made the most of the lack of shop's open by visiting Trinity College and viewing the Book of Kells. Always something I had intended to see, quite amazing detail and craftsmanship in Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1159987160868778102006-10-04T18:39:00.000+00:002006-10-04T18:39:20.926+00:00The Ups and Downs of lifeBeen a whle since the last post, the regular updates are somewhat irregular, but here goes. A reality for me right now is that life has it's fair share of ups and downs, seems to be more downs than ups for me right now, but theres always 2 sides to a coin and 2 ways of looking at things. Guess i've always thought of myself as abit of an optomist, the glass is half full and all that.&Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1158695786445690892006-09-19T19:56:00.000+00:002006-09-19T19:56:26.453+00:00Worth the workWell this years bible class is taking abit of a different slant, split the classes, so i'm now taking the 3rd form upwards. Really wanting them to take ownership of the programme, keep it as conversational as possible in approach, and as relevant to their lives as possible. Would be alot easier from my point of view to simply churn out some pre-prepared "off-the-shelf" material each week, Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1158694971936260562006-09-19T19:42:00.000+00:002006-09-19T19:42:51.946+00:00Opera, not the musical kind!!Have recently switched to a new web browser, a change does you good as they say. Now using Opera, some nice additional features, loads a fair bit quicker than IE and is hopefully more sucure and virus free. Still finding my feet with all it's keyboard and mouse shortcuts, tabbed browsing and RSS integration are nice features. Will see how it goes for a while anywayColin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1158097105626931712006-09-12T21:38:00.000+00:002006-09-12T21:38:25.740+00:00Gone wireless broadbandWell we've finaly gone broadband, and wireless at that. As cheap a package now for broadband than dial-up, so figured we might as well enjoy the surf where you want and talk option of Bt's wireless broadband. Hopefully it will mean more regular postings on the old blog, can't really get less than recently as they have been rather scarce. Anyway work in the morning so i'm off to bed Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1156967897028446742006-08-30T19:58:00.000+00:002006-08-30T19:58:17.153+00:00Alot to ponderWell i'm not long back from the PCI Youth Ministry Summer School, a 5 day retreat at loughry college where we collectively thought through the challenge and responsibility of fulfilling our biblical mandate to: "....tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done." Psalm 78 vs.4 We were lead in the main sesions by Chap Clarke, Duffy Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1155891777144281162006-08-18T09:02:00.000+00:002006-08-18T09:02:57.153+00:00Windows Live writerSo this is my first blog using Windows Live Writer, seems to be a useful tool for managing updates to your weblog using a MSword-like interface. So there we go, hopefully this will assist more regular postingColin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1155819402956948582006-08-17T12:43:00.000+00:002006-08-17T12:56:42.973+00:00Long time no blogWell I think this blog could officially do with a ressurrection as there has been a noteable lack of postings (i.e. none) in the recent past. I've been intending to get back into the habit for a while, but busyness has taken over. Having experienced God moving last week at ReachOut06 I kinda realised that I had been letting busy-ness push Him outta my life. It's something I Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1148586269440799172006-05-25T19:17:00.000+00:002006-05-25T19:44:29.456+00:00Nearly 2 months, no blogWell it was brought to my attention that i wasn't updating this blog, which is a fair point so I thought i'd better post a quick comment. Things have been pretty busy recently, hence the lack of blogging, but I kinda feel i've been missing out abit so i hope to pick up more regular postings again. I find as you jot thing's down, assemble your thoughts and think through Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1143720312495845372006-03-30T12:02:00.000+00:002006-03-30T12:05:12.510+00:00Just setup a Myspace account and a bebo account, everyone seems to be doing it so I figured why not. Check them out sometime and if your a member invite me as a friend, seem like a good way of keeping in touchColin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1142599586508858402006-03-17T12:33:00.000+00:002006-03-17T12:46:26.520+00:00Long time No blogWell it's been a while since i've taken time to update the old blog, so on this St. Patricks day since i'm off, I thought i'd take the opportunity to jot down a few thoughts. Suppose the biggest event since my last post was celebrating my turning 1/4 of a century on 8th March. Not a great celebration as I sat an exam on my birthday, but went out the weekend before with Helen, Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1139659486729048852006-02-11T11:45:00.000+00:002006-02-11T12:04:46.746+00:00Picked up a few books during the conference, some on recomendation, others out of interest. Will post some thoughts on them as I read them, A Generous Orthodoxy - Brian McClaren, Church Next - Eddie Gidds & Ian Coffey, Seizing Your Devine Moment - Erwin McManus.Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5908889.post-1139658295683681052006-02-11T11:27:00.000+00:002006-02-11T11:44:55.920+00:00Kingdom Come........more than words ConferenceChallenging, refreshing, inspiring, educational, rewarding: these are all words I would use as I reflect on the few days I spent at the above conference. Sometimes you get bogged down doing "stuff" in church related activities, and you loose focus on who your serving and why your serving Him. And this week was just what I needed to challenge my own Colin Foremanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08634214184313020300noreply@blogger.com0
